Construction in Ireland
It has been well documented that Coronavirus has deeply impacted the ability for construction projects to scale up and keep to completion deadlines since the start of the pandemic. The Irish government has only recently advised about lifting restrictions from the 12th April – of which you can find out more details here. Prior to this only construction sites deemed “essential” by the Government were allowed to operate.
It’s not all doom and gloom however, as the outlook for the remainder of 2021 is looking positive. The Irish economy has been one of the most resilient in Europe during 2020 and there is an expectation of continued growth of construction output to the tune of €23 Billion this year. This is nicely referenced by the annual Aecom study published earlier in the year.
With foreign private investment continuing to be the driving force behind sectors such as data centres as well as industrial, logistics and storage sites – there is justified reasons to be optimistic.
